Doris Mason is a singer/songwriter, pianist and arranger from Nova Scotia. Doris is well known for her outstanding musicality, musicianship, great personality and sense of humour – and she is extremely happy to be teaming up with Ottawa’s John Geggie on bass. Doris and John have a musical connection from his east coast tours – prepared to be dazzled!
Doris Mason has a multi-faceted background of celtic, folk, blues and jazz which has afforded her a rich and diverse career throughout Nova Scotia, Canada, Europe and the United States. Doris was awarded the “Women of Excellence” award in Halifax, NS in 2017 for her body of work and has been a featured artist with Symphony Nova Scotia as part of their Pops Concert Series. As well as performing in musicals, revues, and on television,she’s been a contributing writer for 10 seasons with the Rise ans Follies of Cape Breton, the Summertime Revue,over 10 years as part of Denny Doherty’s “Dream A Little Dream”, which played through Ont.,Atlantic Canada,Kansas City, Cleveland,Rockville Maryland, and NYC. She is Musical Director of the Multi-Cultural group “DRUM!”,which was featured on Capitol Hill two years in a row. Her preferred style of playing is jazz, blues, and boogie-woogie.
