If you are new to the city, or just want to play tourist in your own hometown, then the River Loop tour is for you. Start out here in Wellington West, by picking up a picnic pack from Thyme & Again, or some wonderful fresh vegetarian delights at The Table, or any one of our many fabulous restaurants and shops. Bike past majestic Parliament Hill and take in the wonder of the UNESCO recognized Rideau Canal, while taking in all the downtown sites. Then continue along towards one of Ottawa's hidden gems, the experimental farm and arboretum, just past Dow's Lake. This beautiful park inside the city is a great place to take a break, and have a picnic! Continue the loop all the way back to the Ottawa River, where you will enjoy great views of Gatineau Park! Head back up Island Park Drive and stop in for a meal or a drink at any number of the pubs and eateries along Wellington St. West!

Looking for something a little less challenging, and more urban? Cut that tour in half with the Canal Views bike ride. It's an easy, relaxing way to get out and enjoy the city with the whole family! This 13 km bike ride has plenty of places to stop and smell the roses while enjoying all that central-western Ottawa has to offer. Start off at the Ottawa River by Bayview Road, then head towards the iconic National War Museum at LeBreton Flats, the majestic Parliament Buildings, Senate, Chateau Laurier, National Art Gallery and so much more! You will be sure to encounter friendly Ottawans and people from around the country and the world, who have come to visit! Ride along the historic Rideau Canal, all the way to Dow's Lake, then meander your way back to Wellington West and grab a burger at local landmark Hintonburger, or a beer at award winning Ottawa brewery, Tooth and Nail!

Want to get away from the crowds and just enjoy a nice long stretch of path along the river? Well, then the Britannia Bound bike trail might be just what you're looking for! Stop in a Chesterfield's Diner, or Metro for some provisions or a great take away lunch, then climb on your bike and head west. Enjoy a taste of the country right here in the city by taking advantage of the multi-use pathways along the resplendent Ottawa River. This winding trail is home to many animals such as rabbits, groundhogs, geese and turtles - just to name a few. At your destination of Britannia Beach, be sure to stop in and see the sailors on the bay and bring your swimsuit to enjoy the water! After spending a nice afternoon in Britannia Beach, get back on your bike and head back to Wellington West, where a fabulous dinner at the Wellington Gastropub, Carben, Petit Bill's or Cafe My House awaits. Then keep the fun going by meeting up with friends at the Royal Oak, The Wood, or 10fourteen!
